Last week, we partnered with Orkin at a local Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers to help resolve a tough rodent issue using a specialized rodent exclusion fabric. This material is designed to block entry points commonly exploited by mice and rats.
This wasn’t your typical landscape job — it was a precision-focused solution using stainless steel mesh that rodents cannot chew through. Our team expertly installed it around key vulnerable areas of the site to ensure maximum protection.

Park Ridge Country Club Landscaping Project
CHALLENGE: Park Ridge Country Club, located on Prospect Street in the City of Park Ridge, has been a fixture in the community since 1911, serving over 500 families and thousands of members. In 2008, the club embarked on a renovation to enhance its entrances and walkways. The design team sought a material that would complement the charm and character of the historic clubhouse while standing up to heavy foot traffic and the test of time.
SOLUTION: Tommy Pollina Landscape Co. Inc was selected to perform the installation, working alongside OKW Architects to bring the vision to life. The team chose Copthorne® pavers by Unilock – known for their timeless, European-inspired aesthetic. The pavers were site-blended in Burnt Clay, Old Oak, and Burgundy Red, perfectly complementing the club’s brick façade. Manufactured using Unilock’s EnduraColor™ technology, these pavers deliver enhanced durability and lasting color, with textures cast from real stone and brick.

Functional Landscaping Solutions that Look Beautifull and Solve Problems
At Tommy Pollina Landscape Co. Inc we’re all about more than just curb appeal — we create functional landscaping solution that are designed to look beautifull and sove problems. This recent project is a perfect example: A backyard swale lined with medium-sized river rock boulders now redirects excess water that used to flow in from the neighbor’s yard. At the end of the swale, we installed flow wells that capture and contain the runoff underground, preventing flooding and standing water in the yard.

Village Of Kenilworth Project Update
This past Friday, Tommy Pollina Landscape Co. kicked off the installation of Arborvitae, boxwoods, and barberries in front of the house, and things are really starting to take shape! Brick Driveway Channel Drain Project in the Village of Riverwoods
Another recent project in the Village of Riverwoods that required the expertise of multiple specialized crews working together to install a channel drain at the bottom of a brick driveway.
From sawing through brick to ensuring the system was flawlessly aligned for optimal water flow, every detail demanded precision and collaboration.

We recently completed a project in the City of Park Ridge where a troublesome downspout was buried and redirected to prevent flooding. The results? A flawless, functional, and beautiful space that you’d never know required any work at all.
The first photo shows the installation process – carefully laying the groundwork to ensure proper water flow and long-lasting performance. The second photo reveals the final result: a seamless setup under a set of flagstone steppers. Not only does it keep the yard dry and safe, but it’s completely hidden, blending perfectly with your outdoor space.
Village of Northfield Landscaping Project
When a Village of Northfield homeowner started planning a major addition with a high-end builder, the Village stepped in and flagged an issue:
The existing yard was graded improperly, and before any permits could move forward, a civil engineer needed to design a drainage and grading plan that met the village’s strict standards.
That’s when the engineer brought in Tommy Pollina Landscape Co., Inc., the one company they trusted to get it done right. Working hand-in-hand with the builder, engineer, and the Village, we’re now installing a 1,000-foot berm with hundreds of yards of soil that wraps the entire back of the property — engineered, permitted, and built to exacting specs.

Village of Glencoe Drainage & Sod Phase Project Complete
We just wrapped up the drainage and sod phase of a major outdoor transformation in Glencoe! This phase included:
Buried downspouts, French drains, Hundreds of feet of solid and perforated PVC, Brand new sod installed today
With a fully functional drainage system now in place and fresh green sod laid down, the foundation is set for what’s next.

Park Ridge Garden Bed Transformation Project
We recently wrapped up a stunning landscape transformation in Park Ridge — turning an overgrown, high-maintenance garden bed into a sleek, low-maintenance focal point.
The problem: The old bed required constant weeding, trimming, and watering — too much work, not enough reward.
The solution: A clean, natural river rock installation.
Drainage Landscaping Project in Lake Forest
To improve drainage in the southeast area of the backyard, 17 yards of soil will be brought in to fill low spots and fine-graded to direct water toward two oak trees. A swale will be installed in the middle of the low area, pitched from right to left to drain between the trees. To enhance water collection, an 82-foot French drain system will be installed, with one section running through the swale and another along the east side of the yard, starting 10 feet south of the fence and connecting to the first drain. The project will conclude with final grading to ensure proper drainage, leaving the area ready for seeding.

Starting a New Drainage Project in the City of Des Plaines
Today we started a project where we are burying the downspouts and sump pump discharge underground and engineering them to flow into one fully integrated drainage system. Instead of water running out onto the lawn and causing flooding, everything will be directed safely underground, keeping the yard dry and usable. By connecting the roof runoff and sump pump into one streamlined system, we’re preventing standing water, protecting the foundation, and following all city of Des Plaines guidelines.
